Voluntary Agencies Active in Disasers (VOAD) is an important component of FEMA's mission.

This short video highlights the activities of five different voluntary agencies who assisted disaster survivors Dawn and David Cohen in Manville, New Jersey after they suffered significant property damaged caused by flooding that accompanied Hurricane Irene in late August, 2011. Voluntary agencies featured in this video include: Faith Lutheran Church, the Salvation Army, Mormon Helping Hands, the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, AmeriCorps.
